225 Stunning Palisander Wood Dining Table by Carlo de Carli Circa 1955 Italian - Gio Ponti
 This is a truly stunning and rare pedestal (extendable) Mid Century Dining Table which was designed by Carlo de Carli (attributed) in Italy in the 1950s. The Table is made from the beautiful Palisander Wood from Bolivia/Brazil and the textured grain gives the table a wonderful patina. The seamless lines and sculptural octagonal shaped base is typical of Carlo de Carli and the use of one material emphasizes the solid look of this design piece. The table can accomodate 6 to 8 comfortably extended and when closed is perfect for 4 guests or makes for a work of art to place a vase of flowers on. The lacquer coating is original, nevertheless in great condition with barely noticeable, minor signs of wear. The 5cm thick tabletop opens to reveal the hidden leaf to extend the table. De Carli is famous for his design and this table encapsulates his essential talents succinctly
